Again Tomorrow: Our Candy-Coated Wishes

Again Tomorrow is a digital zine focused on Jun Kazari and Mitsune Miwa from the Puella Magi Madoka Magica mobile game, Magia Record. The zine itself is a free SFW open-entry digital only zine at A4 size and will be distributed on itch.io upon project release. The zine's host and only mod is SerenDark. The only contributor deadline is the May 15 submission deadline. Illustrations and written works are both allowed. All skill levels accepted. Every submission will be accepted as long as they follow all guidelines. Please follow all guidelines and include all the required information in your submission. This zine strives to be a tribute, celebration, and love letter to these two girls and their journey:
How they grow or stagnate, their relationship and bond with each other, the things they learn and go through, the meaning of being a Magical Girl, and what they wished for. We want to highlight these two as beloved characters from the game and show our appreciation for their endearing, emotional story and how loveable they are together.

Courtesy of Magia Union Translations, Jun and Mitsune's stories are viewable in English video format.
Whether you need a refresher or will be viewing for the first time, we hope you enjoy!

Questions & Answers

Is this a free or for-profit zine?

This is a free zine.

Will this be a physical zine?
Will there be merch?

No. This is a digital-only zine that will be offered as a PDF through itch.io. Our focus is on the zine itself, so we are not doing digital merch.

What kind of works will this zine feature, and do submissions need to follow canon?

We aim to feature works that explore both the positive and negative aspects of JunMitsu.
This project is a tribute to the themes and bond that both girls share, the struggles they go through, the good times they have, and the growth and loss they experience.
Submissions don't have to follow canon exactly, but we ask that they at least keep canon in mind for characterization.
For instance, while Jun and Mitsune never celebrated Christmas with the residents of Mikazuki Villa, a work depicting this scenario would be allowed if there was enough focus on JunMitsu and what the occurrence means to them.

What happens if my content does not meet the guidelines?

We will respond to your emailed submission within 48 hours and update you regarding your status. If your submission does not meet all guidelines or has other issues, we will notify you in our response. You're free to resubmit up until the submission deadline on May 15.

Who can join as a contributor?
Can minors participate?

This is an open-entry zine, meaning everyone who applies will be accepted regardless of age or zine experience as long as they follow all guidelines. All skill levels are accepted.

How many contributors are you accepting?

Everyone who sends their submissions before the deadline (May 15th) will be automatically accepted if they follow all guidelines. We have no limit on contributors.

Are other characters allowed?

Ideally Jun and Mitsune should be primary focuses of every submission. As long as this is true, other characters are allowed to be involved too.

Are ships allowed?

Only Jun and Mitsune. If other characters are included, we ask that they are depicted platonically so as to not take focus away from JunMitsu.

Is this zine SFW?
What is the rating of this zine?

This is a SFW zine rated 16+. All submissions should be SFW.
Close contact such as mild kissing and hugging are allowed, but submissions should not feature nudity or erotic/explicit content. Graphic depictions of violence are not allowed and should be kept to minor depictions of injury or death.
If you’re unsure that your submission follows guidelines, please send a Twitter DM or an email so we can talk!
*(We are choosing to disallow even nonsexual nudity due to both characters being underage and the project potentially involving minors.) *

We understand that due to the nature of the chosen topic there may be mature themes present in submissions, but we ask that all submissions adhere to the SFW policy.

Can we submit pre-existing works?

Yes, if they meet all guidelines and size requirements when you submit them.

What will be the compensation for contributors to the zine?

All contributors will have access to the finished free digital zine in the end alongside everyone else.

Can I use my work after the zine?

Yes, contributors are free to do what they want with their contributions after the zine is complete, including selling or being used in portfolios. We do not claim ownership of submissions.
